I studied Applied Mathematical and Physical sciences in the National Technical University of Athens. I finished the joint Bachelor’s and Master’s cycle after defending my master thesis entitled: “Calorimetric measurements on biorelevant co-polymers”, before joining the PhD program offered by the Molecular Specrtroscopy department of the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany. I obtained my PhD title in 2017 from the University of Amsterdam, with my thesis focusing on specific ion effects on protein fragments. After the PhD, I moved to Berlin for a postdoctoral stay in Fritz Haber Institute, where I became an expert on advanced nonlinear THz and vibrational cutting edge spectroscopic techniques. In 2021, I moved my research activities at the IMDEA Nanoscience institute in Madrid, holding a Marie Curie postdoctoral individual fellowship, aiming to unravel electron-phonon interactions on conductive metal-organic frameworks, by using the ultrabroadband Spintronic Terahertz Emitter (STE) source. From April 2024, I am the principle investigator of the Nonlinear Bulk and Interfacial Liquid Dynamics independent group at IMDEA, owing a “Cesar Nombela” grant from the Autonomous Community of Madrid.
